According to The Barna Group, most Americans value their relationships with family members over a relationship with God. In a recent survey, only one out of five people said that their most important personal relationship was with God, while 70 percent identified a family relationship as the most valuable. The results were based on a random telephone survey conducted with more than 1,000 adults. Other Barna research shows that only 56 percent of people who attend a Christian church are “absolutely committed to the Christian faith.” [Source: Barna.org, March 17]
