Stewardship notes from Sermon by Rick Jones

Given at Pekin Bible on 9/19/2004

1) God owns it all: Daniel 5:23, Psalm 24:1, Haggai 2:1, Deuteronomy 8:18, I Corinthians 4:7, 6:19-20, I Chronicles 29:10-16
2) God entrusts his resources to stewards: Adam & Eve-the garden, Joseph-Potiphar's house
Stewardship
= the free & joyous activity of the church in managing all of life's resources for God's purpose
=The use of God given resources for accomplishment of God given goals
Areas of Stewardship- Gospel (I Cor 9:19, Col 1:25), Truth (I Cor 4:1, Eph 3:2), Spiritual Gifts (If Peter 4:10), Oversight in the church (Titus 1:7), Money/Material Things (Luke 16, Matt 25:14)
3) God will ask all stewards to give an account: I Cor 4:2, Luke 16:10, Romans 14:12, II Cor 5:10, I Cor 3:9-15, Habbakkuk 3:17-19
